Hasami Porcelain, A Still House Favorite In New Colors
Whether we’re at home, in the shop, or studio, none of our workspaces are complete without Hasami Porcelain.
Made in Hasami, Japan, and inspired by traditional Japanese tiered boxes, Hasami Porcelain is easy to stack or repurpose. Because mugs, sugar bowls, and creamers are all the same diameter they can be stored together on top of one another. A lid from the sugar bowl also fits on top of the mug, or underneath as a coaster.
Hasami Porcelain is made from a special mixture of porcelain and clay that gives each piece a unique textured surface. Sections of some pieces are left unglazed—the exposed beige surface contrasts eloquently with each glaze Hasami uses—while others are left unglazed entirely, showing off their natural color. All pieces are fired at high temperatures which makes them durable and resistant to staining.
